Sweden
You know you’ve cracked when you’re looking at a wall map and you try scrolling through the provinces with your mouse.... Ah! — there’s Småland, down low, birthplace of my great-grandfather, partly hidden by my printer.
My pleasure. It might not be perfect, but at least it’s closer to your intended meaning.
And thanks for reminding me about Moberg. Lars was born in 1849. As a young man he lived in Illinois for a time, then brought his family to California in 1888.
Jean, you’ll be glad to know that I just came in from my latest yard project — removing a stubborn clump of heavenly bamboo with an axe and shovel. In fact, I’d still be out there if I hadn’t broken the axe handle....

William,
Småland being the setting for Vilhelm Moberg's "The Emigrant" series. Fine novels and even the films based on the books are good.
Thanks again for your help with the translation change, from "discarded" to "forgotten"!

Sounds like you need a break from the computer.
