Autumn Detail

One last ladybug

fall

(first publication)

Recently Linked: A very special thanks to Vassilis Zambaras for his new poem, “Starlings.” I once said that I would love to be a word in one of his poems. If you haven’t already visited his blog, I highly recommend you spend some time there. Vassilis is a great poet who creates a magic all his own.

Update:
“Autumn Detail” added to Poems, Slightly Used.

Lächel...diese kleinen Krabbler, für sie wird es zu kalt, ja...
nimm ihn mit hinein, er wird sich auf deinen Blumen am Fenster wohl fühlen...

A lovely thought...

We so rarely see Ladybugs here anymore. Perhaps their presence or absence is a measure of environmental changes. I miss them.

Your words here remind me of the a verse we learned as children:
Ladybug, ladybug fly away home
Your house is on fire
Your children are gone.

Oh, my — I haven’t heard that one in years.... I see there’s an entry on the rhyme at Wikipedia.
