Thanks, Elisabeth. A great many of these little poems are like journal entries. In this case, the five steps are ones we uncovered the other day after removing some old junipers between our house and the neighbor’s. Apparently the people who lived here before we did got along quite well.... and so we will keep the steps where they are as a reminder.
