Tricked into depression by a poem no one else would claim.
Tricked into joy when it’s done. Tricked into shadow.
Tricked into triumph. Tricked into an early grave.
Tricked by it all, I take up my pen, eager to be tricked again.

Where our words come from,
our thoughts
ought to surprise
lead to discover,
yes eager
the moment
day
the times
for trickery.
Yes. And
Where we come from,
our words
ought to surprise,
lead to discover...
Thanks, Robert.
it is all a trick, but I know well this feeling William to desire to be tricked again...
As I am tricked, Laura, by the beauty of your new post....
Tricked or surprised..... Wouldn't it be boring otherwise?
Great words to start the day.
The fingers have a disconnect from the brain...a magicianship, where they speak of their own accord and tell truths we knew, but didn't, hid, yet savored. Trickery indeed. Happens to me all the time.
Thanks, Anthony. So true. The amazing thing is that anyone ever is bored.
Beautifully said, Annie, about the disconnect and magicianship. Here’s to the next time — which should be happening just
about
now.
Tricky tricked!
That’s the trick — to be tricked even as you trick....
Have you been visited recently by the ghost of Patrick Kavanagh? He enjoyed performing this same trick....
No visit that I was aware of, but who can really say. I’d not be ashamed if’t’were so.
Tricked by a new site design. :-D
I like the words that trick me into thoughts. I like the new design as well. :-)
Yes, there’s nothing like a well designed trick to trick us into thinking it’s not a trick....
We are tricked so easily because trickery is designed to deceive and most everyone is vulnerable to it...
Yes, so much so that we trick ourselves with our own tricks....
It is all a bit of a mystery, isn't it? I'm thankful for it.

And that’s clear, Erin, from your own writing....
Enjoyed the "Tricked" poem very much. I have very little publishing to my name, and yet strike out eager on a daily (hourly, if it were possible) basis with thought and pen and whole self thrown in the mix.
Thanks, Terresa. And of course, how else can we proceed?
