Ninth in her series study of dreams, this amazing work by Rahina speaks to me like one of my own, a spirit out of the gray depths of all I remember and all that I don’t. I am deeply moved. Sharing it now, how I wish that friends and family gone from this life could see it too.

This is very striking. To me, Rahina has created something like the foggy and remote mountains that the Chinese artists of a thousand years ago created. And you're the monk in one of those mountains.

What K said.

Beautifully done.

what a wonderful painting of you, William! A cross between Walt Whitman and Gandalf with a dash of Elijah - the William, poet and prophet, we all know and recognize through his writing.

Lucky, yes, Raven Rose, but deserving is something I have to live up to. I’m delighted you like Rahina’s painting!

Rudhi! Thanks to you and Rahina, I am no longer operating a non-prophet enterprise....

Jasmin, I’m glad you like it. And it’s true: I was born on a Sunday.

Kevin, I think that’s a great observation. Not only that, I’ll take the job.

Thanks, Jean. Take some time to look through Rahina’s archive. You’ll be pleased by what you find.

Harry, your cross and dash sound like a fine recipe for immortality. Your kindness, though, makes the present that much sweeter.

:-) really beautifull portrait!

William you are the faavourite model, with your charisma

William Michaelian said...

Thank you, Laura! But I’m thinking charisma must be the Italian word for beard....

The eyes, William, the eyes! Sadness, wisdom, fire: all there. Love it.

William Michaelian said...

Hello, Paul. That’s wonderful to hear. The eyes — I was thinking about that, and how striking in general they are in Rahina’s portraits. They tell me that those very qualities are strongly present in her, otherwise she would never be able to convey them in her paintings.

Hi William,
she captured you very well. Even I don't know you but the combination of softness and youre piercing glance is marvellous.

William Michaelian said...

Good thoughts, Alberto, and spoken like the friend you are.

Hi, Nicole. If this painting had a voice, it would say “thank you.”

Like ALeks i already commented on this post. But another try.....:-)

This portrait of you is great William. It catches you very well and also it catches some subtility you can't see in a photograph but for sure in the paint.

Very true. And now with Rahina’s work, and yours, and Laura’s, and Aleksandra’s, I am making my own miniature Louvre....
