For Vassilis Zambaras, with thanks, in awe
On a boy’s face
the hair of a man
he doesn’t
know.
Beneath
the almond
a flower
in his
palm.
In a breath
a lone starling
shivers
then
is
gone.

wow, love that...
Hello, Brad. Thanks! As I love the poem that inspired it.
I love that too...
Thank you, Laura.
I am grateful and humbled beyond words when my poems are able to inspire other poets--thank you, William.
Vassilis, as I would say that “beyond words” is the medium through which yours most assuredly arrive. You give us more than poems. You give us lives.
This poem makes me think of the fleeting nature of time and our brief passage here on earth. I am of this reminded tonight when I am caught up in my little dramas.
Such are our lives, with their own seasons and storms. Thank you, Stickup Artist.
