it's funny. i read it as 1977 and my mind was staggering. i was off imagining, creating colour fields that existed then in photography and feelings in the belly that existed alongside this just because. and then my eyes adjusted and i read 1777 and i just plain fell over.
How amazing that a book still survives from 1777. But even more wonderful is that you found it William and it now has a safe and loving home. That is one lucky book~~~
Thanks, Erin. Thanks, Jan. Handling the pages reminds me of pollen on a butterfly’s wings. We saw some others in the rare book room that were much older, and they too are staggering to hold in one’s mind and hands. This book and a few like it were out in the open shelves.
