Prose Bargain

I found these books on the two-for-one rack, priced at a dollar each.
Two dollars lighter, I was on my way home.

Two dollars lighter
yet heavy with the weighted word

I can't think of a better way to spend $2.00! Great thrift shopping, William!!!

And quite pleased, I might add. Almost unreasonably so. Thanks, Annie.

Jan, all the more so, since those two dollars went to the Friends of the Public Library to help further their mission.

our local library often has books for sale... and some are treasures.... i just wonder what the mission of libraries is if classics are no longer wanted on their shelves....
you definitely got a good buy there William!

I certainly did, Rahina. Most of the books in the store are donated, but a few books discarded by the library also wind up on the shelves, making me wonder that same thing. Some are old beautiful reference works. I don’t know what replaces them. I’m almost afraid to look.
