October Passing

the moon is out

an owl is calling through the firs

perhaps I’ll awaken soon

and find this dream

is yours

am 'twisting' this one around in my mind-heart
in an order that is to make it mine....

neat ! and these images that YOU "CREATE"

I JUST DISCOVERED THE TERM "DEEP IMAGE"

(OR "DEEP IMAGISM")

NOT SURE WHAT IT IS
BUT ILL KNOW ONE WHEN I SEE ONE !

(the term/definition of "deep image' via Jerome Rothenberg and Robert Kelly, about April 19,1960 !

Thanks for the note, Ed — you always pull a rabbit out of the hat, and this time it’s a mighty deep hat. “Imagism,” “create,” “deep” — I’m sure the owl and the moon know a lot more about these things than I do. But I love the way it all overlaps.

Hi, Brad! Thank you!

Almost every day as I drive out our dirt road, I see a white owl fly off the fence or trees in the early morning dark before light comes. He is a welcome sight because a Paiute friend told me once that the owl sees through the darkness and can help us see through tuff times in our lives if we perceive its visits as such! Beautiful poem!Deb
