You Are Here†

The geography of reason,
related in a dream:

You are here,
wherever here might be,

And what you seem
is what I mean.

A case study in the pole-vaulting of an inspiration over the high bar of its occasion. Beautiful!

concise and explicit and true, both, your poem and the pic of Robert

Joe, my heart leaps at your kind, athletic characterization. Thanks!

And thank you too, Laura. I wrote and posted this response on Robert’s blog so quickly, I was afraid I wasn’t doing his fine work justice. Luckily, he’s used to my little outbursts, and I took his encouragement as a good sign. I don’t know if “You Are Here” could ever stand alone, but Robert’s “renewal theory” most certainly can and does. Its appearance on my computer screen this morning was truly a stroke of good fortune.
