Carl Larsson: A Family

A biography for children.
Maybe that’s why I enjoyed it so much.

In our old public library,
I would read several books while my mother
looked for her own to take home.

I bought this one this morning,
and read it this afternoon.

Thanks very much, Lon. A number of years ago, my mother gave me a Carl Larsson calendar I really liked, and in fact still have; so when I saw this book at Goodwill this morning I couldn’t resist. It’s very nicely done. The artist and his wife had seven children, and he sketched and painted them the same way we might take snapshots.

Wonderful, Laura. Larsson’s work gives me a good feeling.

It was another lucky surprise, Jan. Each set of facing pages has text on the left and a painting or two on the right.

Through another blog I found your wonderful blog. I'm following you now. I love books too and especially old books. I don't have a lot of them, because of lack of space, but maybe sometime I will have more room ; )
I love the art of Larsson. Everyday life captured in wonderful artwork.
Have a great day.

I will, thank you, Monique, in part due to your thoughtful visit. And I’ll look in on your blog as well.
