Little girls stealing tulips

Little girls stealing tulips, bless you for your first gray hair,
love you for the weight you bear, choose you by the sun to wear
the grace, the smile, the color of your days.

Oh, William, how I wish that I had your talent for putting together beautiful words!

At least I am happy to have a place to visit where I can read them :)

What lovely memories this poem brought to mind of when this little girl did steal tulips and gave them to her mom for Mother's Day. Unfortunately, the owner of the tulip ravaged yard complained to the police and there was a write up of the incident in the suburban paper. My mom looked at the tulips with suspicion after that article. :-)

Thank you both. What makes it stealing, of course, is that they know it’s stealing. What makes it beautiful is that they don’t know they’re creating and giving such beauty in return.
