You said you must be going

You said you must be going
as if here were of a certain size or place
or time, and proof lay in your absence,

which now, dear friend,
is mine.

When one "must get going" will their absence become a void until their return? If they never return can that void be filled by another's presence? The one that is left to stay behind, what do they feel?

Your words have me asking questions today, William...what does this mean?

Jan :)

It means, Jan, that we are both still “here.” But of course that is only a guess.
