Flickering


Brave little streetlights, the earth a birthday cake,
just one more small piece, please, before I go.

What a great analogy: the earth a birthday cake. Yet I shun the street lights and long for an unblemished sky.

Or maybe when we cease to ask if it should or should not, a miracle, like a flower, breaks into bloom.
