something in his shadow

something about the lighting, the coloring,
the clover full of bees so close at hand;

something in the sun on the neck of the man;

something in his shadow, where it bends,
how it ends, as it stands.

well I remember bending to pick up something not realizing that a Queen Stinger settled on my knee and when I got up got stung...I hope this is not the case here..but that something in his shadow is a gift ;)

And then there are the bees’ shadows.... Thank you, Lorraine.

Well written, William...your words had me picturing this old man, weather beaten from years of toiling in the sun, bent over from age. Yet there are times when the sun hits him just right and casts the shadow of a younger man standing straight and tall.

I pictured it faster than I could tell it :)
