As Is

I have spent most of this month writing a free-form essay titled “As Is.” Since it is a departure in style and much longer than my other blog entries, I decided to publish it in a new space of its own. Here is a link that will take you there:

William..."As IS' is brilliantly written! I can see the reasoning of your words. How they blend and add to the story as life does. BRAVO, William, BRAVO!!!
I have added "As Is" to my bookmarks so that I may read it over again and again.

And thank you as always, Jan, again and again. What good fortune I have in such a dear and faithful friend.

I have a copy of 'Please Plant This Book' ...with seeds intact.
Is this of interest to you?

Gary, I remember you mentioning that once a few years ago. I’ve never seen an intact copy “in the flesh.” Maybe I will someday, maybe I won’t, but I’m glad to know that at least one exists. Hang onto it. Even better, you might snap a photo of it and send the picture by email. We can carry this on from there, and leave “As Is” as is.

Dear William:

Your essay 'As Is' inspired me to ask this. I know that you are an R.B. fan.

I am trying to dipense with my earthly possessions but I'm having trouble with the books (500+ or so). Even our local library said they didn't have room for any more (obviously not considering my numerous first editions).

I saw a copy of PPTB on e-bay offered for $800.00 (without seeds), but I don't have time to set up an account.

Just thought I'd ask.

Gary

P.S. I enjoyed 'As Is'.

P.P.S. I know this isn't an email account, so I apologize for the intrusion. Please feel free to delete this comment and, if you have the time and my email address, drop me a line.

Thanks, Gary. I looked, and I don’t have your email address. Mine is at the bottom of the right column. Your book might be worth even more than that — at least there are sellers on Abebooks who are trying to get more. I guess it depends on the buyer. But it’s certainly out of my league, much as I’d like to have a copy. Heck, I’d like to have all your books, and believe me, I have less room than your library. And so it goes.

Thank you, William.

I noticed that I mistyped the word 'dispense' in my post above. I was re-reading it and realized that I said I was trying to dispense with my "earthly" possessions.

As opposed to the other ones??? Umm...

(Punctuation smiley face HERE!)
