Poetry, notes, and drawings by William Michaelian
"James...will you please bring me another pot of tea" :)He is so very stoic and proper looking, William. I adore him~
Even though his eyes are closed, Jan, and he has no ears, he has seen and heard it all. In the evening, after his duties are done, he retires to contemplate the universe. Perhaps this is the moment in which we have caught him. Or he, us.
Ah, but butlers are not supposed to hear or see what goes on in the manor house. His room will of course be small but filled with books, a comfy chair and a small fireplace where he can warm his aching feet before it is time to sleep in his single bed covered in many warm quilts. I quite love his room at the top of the manor :)
It is by far the best room in the house — especially since no one else has seen it, or even knows it is there.
His tiny room is secreted at the very top, in the old tower, which can only be reached by a spiral staircase that is hidden behind a secret door in the library. There is no electricity in the old manor...only gaslights and even they are not present to light his way on the dark, spiral staircase. There he must use a candle to light his way, even during the day. But he loves the seclusion from the rest of the house~
Beautiful. He not only loves it, but it is the only compensation he needs or desires.
