Hello, my love

As crazy as it seems, I have a new website. It’s simple, it’s streamlined, and it’s now the home of my writing and blogging activities. As of this morning, the new blog contains three entries. While I’ll still be making refinements, and perhaps adding a page or two to accommodate special content, the site is ready for you to visit, with the caveat that while I learn the new platform, there will likely be a few inconsistencies.

While my focus will be on the new website, Recently Banned Literature will be kept live. I will respond to comments on old posts, should any arrive. Nothing, really, is ending. I’m just continuing elsewhere. And, as suggested in my first new post, I think the two places are bound to overlap — this being an archival edifice, that being a traveler’s nigh empty hut.

And so this is where things stand. I’ll close this post with my thanks, and a poem:

One Last Thing

One last thing
before I say hello:
here is a flower.

It cried out at first,
but on you it no
longer seems alone.

Hello, my love. Hello.

Ah! You embraced Wordpress. I wonder if it's easier to use than it was back in the day when I first considered using it to build a site?

Just took a quick look at your creation and give it a "like" and a ~ for good measure.

One Last Thing, thank you...

Thank you, too.

This time around, I hired Stephen Monroe. He’s cranky as all get out, but as conscientious as they come.

I've added it to my bookmarks bar.

Congratulations. This makes me want to build a website. Mine would be Zen. I have no content and no audience.

Well.....hello. I will have to check it out. I feel the same about my blog, though often neglected, never out of mind. An archival platform.

That it is. I am really enjoying Wordpress. Thanks for looking in.

It has been over a year now, but I must say, although I do enjoy your blog, I do miss the opportunity to comment and converse with you.

Gary, hello. Those were indeed some good times. Little by little, over a period of years, miles and miles between us, getting to know one another through the written word — it still amazes me that such a beautiful thing is possible. I’m grateful for it. And yet change too is inevitable. Obviously, I could have chosen to include comments as part of the new site. But from the beginning I have wanted more than anything to keep it simple and spare, and even, if I may, with something of the death bed edition about it. But if change is inevitable, that means my feeling about this could also eventually change. I’m also spending less time at the computer these days, and much more time outdoors. This is a factor as well. One other thing: I have grown drastically less fond of listening to myself talk, especially in public. I far prefer the one-on-one of private correspondence. Anyway — that’s where my thinking is these days. We do have each other’s email address. We’ve used them before, and I’m sure we will be in touch. A big thank you, and it’s great to hear from you again.
